Mary Shelley
Mary Shelley was an English novelist,short story writer,dramatist,essayist and travel writer.She was born on 30th August 1797 and died on 1feb 1851.She is best known for her Gothic novel Frankenstein or the The Modern Prometheus.She also edited and promoted works of her husband Percy Shelley.
Until the 1970s Mary Shelley was known for her efforts to publish Percy Shelley's works and for her novel Frankenstein.Now she is regarded as one of the greatest English writers.Her other novels are Valerga(1823),Perkin Warbeck (1830),The Last Man (1826),Lodore (1835) and Falkner(1837).
Shelley uses the historical novel to comment on gender relations and employed the techniques of many different novelistic genres.
